Essential Anatomy and Physiology of Ano-Rectal Region
Aims:
- To teach the anatomy of the Anorectal region including the Anal canal, rectum, perianal region, fascia, muscles, and sphincters supporting the area
- To explain their significance in Ano rectal diseases
- To teach the nirukti, utpatti, functions, measurements, parts, structures in the guda pradesha like Guda vali and its normal physiological functions
- To explain the functions of anal canal, rectum, perianal muscles, anal sphincter, act of defaecation, storage of waste product, structures in relation to anorectal area and their functional impact on anorectal area in relation to anorectal disorders like incontinence and assessment of anal sphincter tone
- To give an understanding of Guda Marma, injury to marma and the diseases related to it.
- To teach about srotas - annavaha & purīṣavaha and their significance.
Outcomes :
- By the end of this program, learners will know about the anatomical aspects of the Anorectal region, the underlying structures, and their clinical significance.
- Learners will understand the disorders due to anatomical variations in the region.
- By the end of this program, learners will know about the classical aspects of Guda Shareera and its physiology and pathology, including the act of defecation.
